Hitting Home
From the dugout to the negotiating table, one local businessmen’s
approach to life is making a big difference in the lives of others.

There’s nothing more rewarding for Dennis than passing on some lessons to his players.
...
For Dennis McAuliffe, there’s nothing like the sound of a baseball exploding off a bat with a loud wooden crack and hurtling deep into left field. Especially when it’s one of his student athletes at the plate. In that moment, Dennis knows he’s done something right. He knows the lessons he’s taught have really hit home. He knows he’s instilled in that player the knowledge and the confidence they need to take their game to the next level.

Life Lessons
Dennis’ approach to coaching is pretty simple. Teach the fundamentals. Motivate your student athletes to be team players. Empower them to do their best. These values have been the hallmark of his more than 25 years of coaching and for Dennis, the rewards have been priceless. He’s thoroughly loved every moment of every season, particularly the interaction with his players. Because whether he’s passing on tips to athletes to improve their skills or meeting with the team and their parents, there’s nothing more gratifying for Dennis than connecting with his players and making a difference in their lives.

A Strong Connection
Coaching is one way Dennis stays connected with his community and with its residents, but he’s also an active presence in other arenas as well. He’s a volunteer member of the “chain gang” for Stanford University’s football team, he sponsors youth activities and outings (ask him about a recent fishing excursion) and he’s active in his local chamber of commerce. He also keeps himself physically fit by working out five times a week and when he’s not busy serving clients, he plays golf, travels and works in his yard.

Up to the Challenge
"Dennis’ gift for connecting with others dates back to before he started coaching. Born and raised in nearby Portola, Dennis joined the Marines after graduating from high school. Because of his mechanical inclination and his people skills, he was assigned to be a combat radio operator. After proudly serving his country for three years, he returned home to California and started work with the Pacific Telephone Company. Over 30 years of dedicated service, Dennis worked his way up the corporate ladder to a managerial position that oversaw the computer systems for the entire state of California. Throughout his tenure, he was known for his “never give up” attitude, his ability to listen to and communicate with others and his unswerving drive to do his best.

Dennis enjoys coaching his clients through a home sale or purchase so they can make the best decisions.

A Natural Fit
For someone like Dennis, coaching just comes naturally. There’s something about teaching and empowering others that’s a natural fit for his earnest, outgoing personality. It’s no surprise then, that the qualities that have made him such an effective coach have also made him such an outstanding real estate professional. For Dennis, he feels that, just like in the game of baseball, it takes the right kind of guidance to achieve goals. As someone who has a strong drive to succeed, sharp mental focus and the keen insight of a former manager, it’s not coincidental that Dennis has become an industry leader.

The Right Professional
Dennis specializes in coaching clients through buying or selling a home. For buyers, he can help them choose the right home, using his razor-sharp negotiating skills to acquire the property at the best value. Likewise for sellers, he’s adept at creating a customized game plan to help sell his clients’ property quickly, efficiently and for top dollar. And befitting someone who’s spent nearly 30 years in telecommunications, he’s a natural at giving his clients frequent updates.
